It Strengthens your Heart

Show your heart some love! Keep this muscle strong and ward off heart diseases by engaging in regular exercise. For starters, you can do a 5 to 10 minute jog around the neighborhood every morning!

Regular jogging or cardio improves blood circulation. Cardio clears up your blood vessels and helps to keep bad cholesterol at bay. It also increases flexibility in the blood vessels, hence reducing the risk for heart attacks and strokes. 

It Clears your Lungs

Breathe In, breath out. Another benefit of exercise for children is that it can increase your child’s lung capacity. The rapid air movement caused by exercise allows for the swift delivery of oxygen to the veins and arteries. Moving out carbon dioxide and replacing it with oxygen helps to decrease the decline of oxygen intake that happens naturally as we age. 

Reduces Blood Sugar

One leading cause of diabetes is the increased presence of glucose in the bloodstream. Exercise tries to burn this glucose before it winds up accumulating in the blood. As you exercise regularly, you will have lower blood sugar levels and your body will be able to control diabetes long term.

Weight Loss

Weight loss is what typically comes to mind when people exercise. We exercise to shred unnecessary fat. We do it to keep our bodies and muscles toned. If you’re used to sitting around a lot and eat way more than your body can burn, your body will compensate by storing unused calories as fat. Exercise helps to burn these calories and therefore lowers weight and keeps the heart healthy.

Exercise is a great way to boost energy levels. It gets the blood flowing and releases endorphins. These hormones help to keep your energy levels high, thus allowing for you to continue to be active throughout the day.

Stabilizes Your Emotional Well-Being

Another benefit of exercise for children and adults is the sense of well-being that is felt afterwards. Beta-endorphins, according to one theory, produce this sense of calm and mental clarity following exercise. 

Another study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that serotonin, also known as the happy chemical, is released when one exercises and also contributes to one’s sense of well-being and happiness.

Exercise can provide an enormous amount of benefits. Just imagine your kids making exercise a regular habit. Encourage your child to be healthy and active by teaching them about these amazing benefits.
